When it comes to dessert in Chinese cuisine, something light. refreshing and fruity is best served at the end of the meal. My favourite is a simple and elegant, tasty dessert of fresh mangoes, tinned lychees (if you can get fresh that would be best) and passion fruit. You can of course use your favourite fruits also like strawberries, pomegranate and peaches. My favourite garnish is such a small sprinkling of star anise sugar, star anise is a fragrant spice found in Chinese five spice and gives the sugar a slight liquorice flavour. You can also decorate with the star anise, for your star guests. Delicious!
