Inspiring Walks from around the world

2013-05-01 18:08:29|Inspiration

For relaxation, fitness and clearing the head, there's nothing like walking outdoors and our beautiful planet has some truly amazing beauty spots to escape to - here are three of my faves!  Angel Falls, Venezuela (above) What better reward after an arduous, challenging walk than the breathtaking view of the 1,000-metre drop of Angel Falls, the world’s tallest waterfall.  Some tour operators offer guided walks to the falls, with an overnight stay in hammocks opposite the falls – what better way to get away from it all!   Sabarimala temple, India Accessible only on foot, this famous pilgrim centre is located within the mountain ranges of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Western side of India. The temple is reached by climbing a flight of 18 gold-covered steps, which signify different aspects of human nature – a most wonderful place to be at peace.   Motuo County, China This is on my ‘desired places to visit’ list as it’s one of Asia’s few places still untouched by the modern world. Without even a road to access it, visitors must trek along grueling terrain culminating in a 200 metre-long suspension bridge. Dubbed Tibet’s holiest land, Motuo is said to be home to a tenth of all flora in China - simply beautiful.
