Home sweet home after travelling US and China….what was I up to in China? I had the amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience to travel and cook with the Cantonese godfather of Chinese cooking, the legendary Ken Hom! We explored, ate and cooked our way across many regions and yet we only scratched the surface of this vast country that is our heritage. Northern, Western, southern Chinese cooking…we travel thousands of miles and enter the homes of many Chinese cooks and chefs to learn, share and experience this diverse and culturally rich cuisine. This project is for BBC2 and will air this year. Will post more details when I have it. There is also a book to accompany the series with recipes collected and gathered by Ken and myself from our journey. “I am delighted and thrilled to be travelling with Ken (my cooking idol). It is an exciting time to be in modern China and through food I want to experience the past, present and a glimpse of the potential future and what it means to be “Chinese” in the 21st Century”.
